Mountainside Learning Services partners with families to support elementary learners through personalized instruction, educational guidance, and homeschool support.
Using structured literacy and research-based teaching practices, we help students build the foundational reading, writing, and math skills they need to thrive. While our primary focus is elementary education, support may also be available for older learners who need to strengthen foundational skills.

Welcome! I’m Emma. I am so glad you are here!
I am a certified educator with a Master’s degree in Education, over 10 years of experience in elementary education, and a recent certification in special education. My training includes structured literacy, Orton-Gillingham–based instruction, and evidence-based reading and math intervention.
I specialize in helping learners build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. Instruction is individualized to meet each student’s needs and support steady academic growth, whether they are beginning foundational skills or working to close learning gaps.
I believe every learner can grow with the right support, clear instruction, and a strong partnership between educators and families. I work closely with parents to provide communication, insight, and practical strategies that support learning at home and in homeschool settings.
While my primary focus is elementary learners, I also support older students who need to strengthen foundational academic skills.
My goal is to help learners build confidence, strengthen essential skills, and develop a positive relationship with learning.

I provide structured, individualized math instruction focused on building strong conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
Instruction supports essential skills such as number sense, operations, and problem-solving, helping students build confidence and a strong mathematical foundation.

I provide structured, individualized writing instruction focused on building strong foundational skills in grammar, structure, and written expression.
Instruction develops sentence structure, organization, and clarity through targeted lessons that support confident written communication.
Informal Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Ongoing Progress
I use informal assessments and ongoing progress monitoring to understand each learner’s current skills and identify the next steps for instruction.
This process helps pinpoint strengths and areas for growth in reading, writing, and math, allowing for targeted, individualized instruction that meets each student’s needs.
Families receive clear communication about progress so they understand how their child is growing and how to support learning at home or in a homeschool setting.
